The curious and dirty mud festival

Thousands of people congregate each July in the seaside town of Boryeong and sneak into giant jars filled with mud. Welcome to the Boryeong Mud Festival. The official version is that mud has restorative properties, but it is obvious that what attendees are looking for is to have a good time sliding, splashing and getting lost.

Apart from the mud, this festival also offers concerts, dances and fireworks.

This is such an important festival in the country of South Korea that not even the coronavirus could stop people from celebrating it, many did it from their homes or gardens.

The recommendation is not to wear clothes that you wear a lot because… ¡you will not be able to use them again!
